A uniquely flexible fiber
Dyneema® is the world’s strongest fiber (15 times stronger than steel on a weight for weight basis). Dyneema® High Performance Polyethylene (HPPE) fiber is made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE). So, Dyneema® fiber is much thinner and more flexible than traditional materials such as leather and cotton while offering higher protection. It is also more flexible and has superior abrasion levels than other man-made fibers. And, unlike other HPPE fibers, it can be easily used in spun yarns that are even softer to the skin.

Because Dyneema® HPPE fiber is so strong, it protects even when it is used in lightweight yarns and gloves. Dyneema® is also used extensively in engineered yarns, especially in combination with fiber glass and steel fiber. These combinations achieve the highest levels of cut resistance while preserving comfort and sensitivity.
Finally, Dyneema® has established an outstanding reputation in the cut resistance market for its suitability for use in coated gloves in combination with stretch yarns like Lycra®.
