PEEK: Extreme Performance

Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) is a sophisticated fiber product produced through a melt-spinning process. Partially crystalline, PEEK has a high tensile strength, is very resistant against chemicals and can operate at extreme temperatures. These properties will provide a longer product life, lower maintenance costs, less machine downtime, and broader material design options.

Properties of PEEK

  • With a melting point of 340°C/640°F, a continuous service temperature of 250°C/480°F, and an application window from -60°C/-80°F to 250°C/480°F, PEEK is proven to perform in extreme temperatures
  • PEEK consistently exhibits good chemical resistance against acids, alkalis and solvents, and its hydrolysis resistance remains high even at elevated temperatures
  • As an inherently flame retardant material that does not require additives, PEEK achieves the stringent low flame, low smoke and toxicity rating by the FAA
